Introduction:
HLCC takes pride in acknowledging the power of youth as the future change-makers of society. For nine consecutive years, HLCC MUN SOCIETY has hosted the HLCC Model United Nations (MUN), providing a dynamic platform for students to engage in simulated diplomatic negotiations.
About MUN:
MUN serves as an academic simulation wherein participants embody UN delegates, navigating complex global issues within various committees. Through this experiential learning, students gain insights into international relations, diplomacy, and critical problem-solving.
HLCC MUN ’23: A Recap
Event Overview:
The 9th edition of HLCC MUN, held on August 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2023, welcomed over 777 delegates from across India to engage in 13 vibrant committees, each addressing pressing global challenges.
Committee Topics:
- UNGA: Looming Energy crisis and global recession, with a focus on Europe.
- UNHRC: Human rights abuses in Sudan amid escalating conflict.
- ECOFIN: Rise of regional currencies and De-Dollarization.
- UNICEF: Child labor exploitation and trafficking in Africa and Asia.
- DISEC: Review of the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
- UNOOSA: Peaceful uses of Outer space and legal framework reforms.
- UNSC: Changing role of military alliances in global peacekeeping.
- ECOSOC: Economic disparity between the Global North and South.
- UNCND: International cooperation to combat drug trafficking and terrorism.
- UNEP: Sustainability strategies for electric vehicles and responsible mining.

– Executive board: 26 EB members from all over India had come to chair the committees.
– Distinguished Guests: The event was graced by dignitaries from Ahmedabad Education Society and the local police department.

– Awards and Recognition: Outstanding delegates and committees were recognized during the Closing Ceremony.
